Die Familie Kara aus Z\u00fcrich wird durch den strenggl\u00e4ubigen Vater Abdullah dominiert. Emine, die Mutter, versucht das Regime ihres Mannes auszugleichen und all ihren Kindern Liebe und den Glauben an Allah gleichermassen zu schenken. W\u00e4hrend ihr \u00e4ltester Sohn Kadir und ihre Tochter Elif ihren Platz in der t\u00fcrkischen Familie wie auch der westlichen Welt gefunden haben, k\u00e4mpft ihr j\u00fcngster Sohn Burak mit der fehlenden Anerkennung seines Vaters und seiner Suche nach einer Identit\u00e4t zwischen den Welten. Als Burak den Koran in das Zentrum seiner Weltanschauung stellt merken Abdullah und Emine zu sp\u00e4t, dass Burak ihnen bereits entglitten und auf dem Weg in den heiligen Krieg ist. Der Vater macht sich auf im t\u00fcrkisch-syrischen Grenzgebiet seinen Sohn zu suchen. Zwischen Orient und Okzident schenkt ihm die schicksalshafte Begegnung mit dem kurdischen Jungen Malik eine zweite Chance.<\/p>\n
