2009\u00a0trieben die Meeresstr\u00f6mungen Dutzende K\u00f6rper von Migranten an einen\u00a0Strand in Mauretanien, die versucht hatten, \u00fcber die kanarischen Inseln\u00a0nach Europa zu gelangen. Darunter auch der K\u00f6rper einer jungen weissen\u00a0Frau. Diese\u00a0Meldung ging dem Filmemacher nicht aus dem Kopf und er\u00a0kehrte acht Jahre sp\u00e4ter nach Senegal zur\u00fcck, wo er als Produzent an den\u00a0Dreharbeiten eines legend\u00e4ren Films teilgenommen hatte. Er sagt: \u00abDie\u00a0R\u00fcckkehr nach Afrika l\u00f6st eine Vielfalt\u00a0von Emotionen in mir aus: die\u00a0Adoption meiner afrikanischen Kinder, die ich vor Ort aufwachsen lassen\u00a0wollte, enge, zu fr\u00fch verstorbene Freunde, die auch an dem Film\u00a0Hy\u00e8nes\u00a0mitgearbeitet hatten und deren Tod ich nie wirklich verwunden\u00a0habe\u2026\u00bb.\u00a0Unter die eindringlichen Bilder dieses Films, einer Verfilmung von\u00a0Friedrich D\u00fcrrenmatts\u00a0Der Besuch der alten Dame,\u00a0mischen sich\u00a0Bilder aus der Gegenwart, in der Pierre-Alain Meier mit Hilfe einiger\u00a0Weggef\u00e4hrten die Zeugen und die\u00a0Verantwortlichen dieses schrecklichen\u00a0Vorfalls trifft, und intime Bilder aus den eigenen Archiven, die seinen\u00a0drei \u00e4thiopischen Kindern gewidmet sind. Seine afrikanische\u00a0Vergangenheit holt ihn ein. Es wird \u2013 so sagt er \u2013 sein letzter Film\u00a0sein.<\/p>\n
